Our Purpose and Story
Many years ago, I was riding my bike around town as a mechanic for the local bike share system. As I was riding that warm spring day, I was thinking about what adventures the weekend would bring to our family with my young son in tow and how I longed for some form of “easy button,” or a resource for suggestions. Chattanooga is such an outdoorsy town, surely there must be some form of guide on what to do, where to go, and how to have an safe, fun outdoor adventure with a kid, right?
After weeks of research came up shorthanded, Adventure Field Guides for Kids was born.
Our mission is to inspire children and their families to explore new areas, recreate outside safely and confidently, while learning new skills and respecting nature. We take the guesswork out of having a family oriented adventure in the great outdoors. These guides provide tips on skills, equipment, and locations for activity-specific adventures.
